Course Description

MCR3U – Functions is the foundational G11 mathematics course in the Ontario curriculum and the critical stepping stone to G12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U) and Calculus & Vectors (MCV4U). Universities place high importance on G11 performance because it often forms part of early admission assessment. Spring 2026 MCR3U program is specifically designed to help students: • Build a solid foundation in functions, algebra, and trigonometry • Achieve high marks (85–95+) on quizzes, unit tests, and the final exam • Prepare confidently for MHF4U • Strengthen mathematical reasoning and problem-solving • Overcome common challenges in Grade 11 math • Catch up or accelerate through our modular course system Course Modules (Modular Design – Easy Mid-Term Enrollment) The course is divided into 5 comprehensive modules. Students who join mid-term will receive a Catch-Up Package (notes, homework, targeted review). Module 1 — Introduction to Functions & Algebra Foundations • Function definition & notation • Domain, range, restrictions • Algebraic manipulation • Function transformations Module 2 — Quadratic Functions & Modeling • Vertex/standard/intercept forms • Completing the square • Transformations & graphing • Real-world quadratic applications • Solving quadratic equations (all methods) Module 3 — Exponential Functions • Exponential growth & decay • Exponent rules • Solving exponential equations • Applications & modeling Module 4 — Trigonometric Functions & Equations • Sine and cosine functions • Amplitude, period, phase shift • Graphing sinusoidal functions • Solving basic trig equations • Real-world periodic modeling Module 5 — Sequences, Series & Final Consolidation • Arithmetic and geometric sequences • Series & sigma notation • Interest applications • Cumulative review & exam preparation Key Learning Outcomes By the end of the course, students will master: • Algebraic Fluency • Advanced Graphing Skills • Trigonometry Foundations • Modeling & Applications • Exam Preparation Skills Schedule & Tuition • 2 hours/week • Total: 30 hours • Saturday or Sunday • Tuition: $899 All classes include: ✔ Full lesson slides & notes ✔ Weekly homework ✔ Quizzes and assessments ✔ Personalized teacher feedback ✔ Full catch-up support for mid-term enrollment Ready to Enroll? • Contact us today for a free consultation + math assessment.
