Course Description

Magic Sesame’s Grade 7 Mathematics Program provides students with the essential skills needed for middle-school success and prepares them for the advanced learning demands of Grades 8–9. This course is ideal for students who want to: • Strengthen foundational math skills • Build confidence in rational numbers, equations, and proportional reasoning • Improve school test scores and overall performance • Develop stronger logical thinking and problem-solving abilities • Prepare early for Grade 8 and Grade 9 MTH1W • Receive structured instruction aligned with the Ontario curriculum Grade 7 is a key developmental year—students who build solid math foundations now will find senior middle school and early high school math significantly easier. Modular Course Design (Join Anytime) The curriculum is divided into five core modules, making it easy for students to join the program at any time. Mid-term enrollments receive a Catch-Up Package with notes, homework, and teacher support. Module 1 — Rational Numbers & Integer Operations • Adding and subtracting integers • Multiplying and dividing integers • Rational number concepts • Absolute value & number line reasoning Module 2 — Proportional Relationships • Ratios, rates, unit rates • Solving proportions • Real-world applications Module 3 — Algebra Foundations • Simplifying algebraic expressions • Solving one-step and two-step equations • Translating word problems to algebra Module 4 — Geometry & Measurement • Circles and circumference • Area of composite shapes • Surface area and volume • Transformations (reflections, rotations, translations) Module 5 — School Exam Preparation • Unit test review • Practice with past-style school assessments • Final exam preparation Schedule Options (1.5 Hours/Week) 1.
