Course Description
Our G4–6 LEGO Robotics & Engineering Lab introduces students to the foundations of engineering thinking, coding logic, and hands-on problem-solving using the LEGO Education robotics system. Through building, programming, and testing their own robots, students develop real STEM competencies—while having a LOT of fun. This course is perfect for curious young learners who love creating, experimenting, and discovering how things work. Learning Goals By the end of the program, students will: • Understand basic engineering and robotics concepts • Learn coding fundamentals through block-based programming • Build robots that can move, sense, react, and solve tasks • Strengthen logical thinking and step-by-step problem-solving • Develop creativity, teamwork, and confidence • Build a foundation for future STEM, coding, and AI learning Course Modules (24 Hours) Module 1 — Engineering Basics & Building Structures • Understanding gears, axles, sensors, and motors • Building stable structures and simple machines • Introduction to engineering design process Module 2 — Coding Fundamentals • Block-based programming • Movement commands, loops, and sequencing • Making robots react using sensors Module 3 — Smart Robots & Real-World Challenges • Building robots that navigate obstacles • Using motion, distance, and color sensors • Problem-solving through mini engineering challenges Module 4 — Team Challenge & Robotics Showcase • Team-based robotics missions • Introduction to competition-style challenges • Final robotics demonstration for parents Future Learning Pathway LEGO Robotics → G7–10 Computer Exploration & Coding Fundamentals → G11–12 Computer Science Tutoring / AP Computer Science Prep → Competitive STEM programs (AI, engineering, programming competitions) Who Is This Course For? This course is ideal for: • Students who love building, designing, or figuring out how things work • Kids interested in coding, robotics, or engineering • Beginners with no prior programming experience • Young learners preparing for a future in STEM or technology • Students who need hands-on, interactive learning to stay engaged Why Parents Choose Our LEGO Robotics Lab • Hands-on projects that spark curiosity and motivation • A structured STEM pathway from G4 all the way to high school • Real robotics learning, not just toy building • Encourages problem-solving, confidence, teamwork, and creativity • Perfect early foundation for coding, engineering, and AI
