This 32-hour University Calculus I Prep Course is designed for students who have just graduated from high school and will enter university STEM or business programs this fall. In 8 weeks, students build a solid foundation in calculus—making their first-semester transition smoother, faster, and far less stressful. Delivered by experienced instructors with university-level teaching experience, this course mirrors the expectations of top Canadian universities. Course Modules (32 Hours Total) Module 1 — Functions & Limits (6 hours) • Review of key algebra & trigonometry • Limits & limit laws • Continuity • Strategies for evaluating limits Module 2 — Derivatives (10 hours) • Definition of the derivative • Rules: product, quotient, chain • Implicit differentiation • Higher-order derivatives Module 3 — Applications of Derivatives (6 hours) • Optimization • Curve analysis • Related rates • Linear approximations Module 4 — Integrals (6 hours) • Riemann sums • Fundamental Theorem of Calculus • Basic integration techniques • Area under curves Module 5 — Applied Problem-Solving & University Prep (4 hours) • University-style problem sets • Past university exam questions • Scientific calculator & notation training • Academic success strategies for first-year math Students will preview core content from first-year calculus courses used across major Canadian universities: U of Toronto: MAT135 / MAT136 / MAT137 / MAT157 U of Waterloo: MATH 127 / MATH 137 McMaster: MATH 1A03 / 1LS3 UBC: MATH 100 / 102 McGill: MATH 139 / 140 / 150 U of Alberta: MATH 100 / 114 / 117 This alignment gives students a real academic preview of what they will study in September.
